Position Overview:

The City of Neenah seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to lead its Community Development and Assessment Department. This key leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the city's future by overseeing planning, development, economic programs, and property assessments while driving strategic growth and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the department's daily operations, including building inspections, community development, and property assessment.
  • Oversee economic development programs, Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) districts, and redevelopment projects.
  • Administer grants, including the Community Development Block Grant Program.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans, municipal codes, and capital improvements.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the Mayor, City Council, and other stakeholders on strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with developers, state and federal agencies, and the community.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in municipal planning and community development. Three years of supervisory experience.
  • Certifications: American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification preferred.
  • Other: Valid WI Driver License or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. Knowledge of economic development, property assessment, grant administration, and redevelopment practices.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Salary Range: $94,341.00- $112,807.50, depending on experience.
    • Salary range reflects base to midpoint of the pay scale. Offers above midpoint require Council approval.
