Job Summary

Take the lead as a Resident District Manager (RDM) with Chartwells K12, coordinating a dynamic, multi-unit dining program for Canyon Independent School District (Canyon ISD) in Canyon, TX. Located in the Texas Panhandle, Canyon ISD combines the opportunities of a large district with a close-knit, supportive community where students are known and loved. Serving 12,000 students across 19 schools, you'll drive operational excellence, build strong client partnerships, and champion our mission to nourish students and fuel their success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and empower a diverse team to deliver exceptional service to the client, students, and community.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while driving team development and achieving key performance indicators.
  • Participate in district leadership collaboration to share best practices and mitigate risks.
  • Make strategic decisions with input from your team, ensuring alignment with both short- and long-term goals.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, education, safety, and accountability.
  • Represent Chartwells at client and community events as a brand ambassador.
  • Ensure client needs are met, identify cross-sell opportunities, and support the rebid process.
  • Oversee operational functions, including safety, marketing, nutrition, and culinary excellence.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and complete required reporting accurately and on time.
  • Develop and coach team members through performance evaluations and succession planning.
  • Lead financial results and budgeting processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in foodservice or hospitality management (per USDA Professional Standards).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • K-12 food service management experience highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of five (5) years of management experience in foodservice or hospitality.
  • Strong background in foodservice management with a consistent record of success.
  • Leadership experience with excellent communication and financial skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, critical thinking, and organizational expertise.
  • Professional, proactive, inclusive, and resilient demeanor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS software.
  • Occasional travel required.
