Our team in Corporate Group is looking for an Assistant Intellectual Property Counsel to join them. You will report to the Corporate Intellectual Property Counsel and will have a hybrid work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

To be considered for the Assistant Intellectual Property Counsel role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree and active bar membership, including a license to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline preferably mechanical, electrical engineering with 4+ years of relevant engineering related experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in intellectual property law, preferably within the Aerospace industry.
  • Experience advising senior management on legal strategy, operations, and technology.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in patent acquisition and portfolio management, contract IP terms, technology licensing, trademarks, branding and IP enforcement.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in US Government IP regulations i.e. FAR, DFRS and other DOD or NASA regulations.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property enterprise IP management and legal billing platforms.
  • Experience with international intellectual property legal issues.
  • Project and/or program management experience to include leading and/or participating in large, complex initiatives, preferably with global scope.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology and Internet law within the Intellectual Property field.

As an Assistant Intellectual Property Counsel, you will:

  • Provide intellectual property-related legal counsel and services to the Intellectual Property Counsel and across all Moog operations.
  • Provide support and advice on IP contract terms and technology licensing matters.
  • Provide support and advice of US Government intellectual property rights in data practices.
  • Provide support and advice on intellectual property aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Assist with the develop and implement patent strategies, including acquisition, maintenance, freedom to operate, defense, and enforcement.
  • Assist with proprietary rights and trade secret practice, including enforcement and defense.
  • Assist with copyright, trademark, and branding issues, ensuring the protection of digital assets.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $190,000.00-$210,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
