POSITION DETAILS
The School of Arts & Sciences at Hunter College, the largest academic unit within the City University of New York (CUNY), comprises over 460 full-time faculty members across 26 departments and 10 interdisciplinary programs. Serving more than 15,000 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students, the School plays a central role in the academic experience of all Hunter College students. The Dean’s Office seeks an Admin Organization and Business Effectiveness Manager, a key academic leadership role supporting the administration and effective use of student success tools. These tools, particularly EAB Navigate360, Coursedog Degree Maps, and the CUNY Transfer Credit Explorer (TREX), are critical for improving student retention, facilitating timely degree completion, projecting course scheduling needs, and enhancing the overall student experience. This position will have a campus-wide impact, benefitting all Hunter students by bridging academic and administrative priorities. The Admin Organization and Business Effectiveness Manager will enhance collaboration among academic departments, student support services, and administrative offices to ensure data-informed decisions and best practices for improving time-to-degree outcomes, increasing retention rates, and eliminating student achievement gaps. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Achievement, the Admin Organization and Business Effectiveness Manager will lead initiatives to increase engagement, improve outcomes, and promote equitable access to resources—ensuring that all students, regardless of their background or circumstances, have fair and consistent access to the tools, services, and support systems that drive their academic success. Additionally, the role involves working collaboratively with key campus stakeholders, including student affairs, the learning centers, and other administrative units.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Admin Organization and Business Effectiveness Manager will be responsible for the following duties: Manage Academic Technology Tools
- Serve as the Application Administrator for Navigate360: Lead the administration and maintenance of workflows to support student retention and time-to-degree initiatives, including advising, tutoring, financial aid, and career services.
- Maximize the utility of the CUNY Transfer Explorer (TREX): Support transfer student success by identifying new or updated equivalency rules, train departments on reports, manage case approvers, and ensure timely case resolution for seamless credit transfers.
- Oversee Degree Map Updates: Work closely with academic units to ensure map data is up-to-date, create new maps where needed, maintain catalog versions, and collaborate with Career Services on integrating career learning milestones.
- Oversee the integration of degree maps within Coursedog to power the Coursedog Course Demand Projection Tool and DegreeWorks Template features. Ensure maps are also available in accessible web formats.
- Develop and maintain Navigate360 data integrations with essential 3rd-party systems, and their compliance with security and institutional standards. (e.g. Qualtrics, Writing Center Online, student mobile ID credentials)
Training and Support
- Design and deliver training sessions for faculty, staff, and advisors, focusing on practical use cases to maximize the impact of academic technology tools. Conduct workshops, webinars, and office hours to provide regular updates and address user questions.
Create and maintain self-service resources such as user guides, FAQs, and video tutorials for widespread and efficient user support. - Maintain thorough documentation of processes, workflows, and technical solutions to support institutional knowledge retention.
- Collaborate with the Hunter College Help Desk to train staff on routine technical issues, ensuring first-line support for end users.
Collaboration and Strategy Development - Work collaboratively with campus leadership, academic units, student affairs, and ICIT to advance implementation and adoption of student success tools.
- Represent Hunter at the CUNY Navigate 360 Council and relevant university-wide councils.
Optimization and Reporting
- Build reports and dashboards on tool utilization, engagement metrics, and student outcomes for leadership and campus stakeholders. Regularly assess tool usage and effectiveness, collecting user feedback to identify areas for improvement.
Perform Other Duties as Assigned Take on additional responsibilities and special projects as needed to support student success initiatives and the goals of academic leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and six years’ related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Higher Education, Educational Technology, Data Analytics).
- Familiarity with the CUNY system and related student success tools (e.g., Navigate360, Degree Maps, Coursedog, Degreeworks).
- Experience in a leadership or training role with academic technology systems.
- Proven experience with data integration and workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Zapier) to support seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
- Proficiency with data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), data preparation tools (e.g., Power Query, Tableau Prep), and SQL.
- Demonstrated commitment to improving student degree attainment outcomes and addressing equity gaps through the effective use of academic technology and data-driven strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Develops and implements training, communications, ongoing task forces and teams, and other support to maintain and build on results

Salary is commensurate with education and experience, within the approved hiring range ($90,375–$96,602).
