Approximately 10 hours per week; maximum 499 hours per year.

The Woodworking Lab Assistant is a support position that benefits students and instructors in the Wood Studio. It is under the supervision of the Woodworking Coordinator. It requires familiarity with the day-to-day operation of the studio. Primary responsibilities include scheduled time for open labs, accounting of consumable materials, operating equipment, safety mentoring, organization and clean-up of studio, monitoring of facilities, and inventorying materials. Safety is a primary responsibility along with student support. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pre-Placement Physical Required.

Hourly Range: $19.1929 - $20.5364 (commensurate with experience)

Minimum Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or general equivalency with proven experience with ceramics.

  • 1 year job related experience.

  • Proven experience with woodworking tools

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate with a diverse student population.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree
