With minimal oversight from leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of meeting scope, schedule, and delivery requirements. As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will impact the long-term goals of the program while contributing to the development of its DevSecOps and software engineering strategy.

You may serve as the primary lead in the discipline when working with stakeholders, using strong influential skills to drive improvements in software engineering processes and practices. A successful candidate will be responsible for both advising and enabling secure and scalable software development and deployment processes. You will collaborate closely with multiple development teams, advising and assisting with building secure and scalable development pipelines. You must be an analytical problem solver with a security mindset, understand technical landscapes, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Use strong influential skills to collaborate across teams to consolidate and simplify DevSecOps tools and services.
  • Mentor individuals within the team.
  • Lead small, short-term, or temporary team structures and projects.
  • Present design documents, system diagrams, etc., to clients, stakeholders, partners, and engineers.
  • Design cloud infrastructure and pipelines independently, including cloud-specific product offerings, and evaluate trade-offs between cost, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Build libraries, modules, and packages for integration by other infrastructure engineers.
  • Create cloud infrastructure that supports applications and improves the developer experience for engineers.
  • Develop CI/CD processes to enhance software quality and speed.
  • Integrate tools to meet non-functional requirements such as quality thresholds, security vulnerabilities, and static analysis.
  • Build application test and deployment pipelines using automated tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI.
  • Proactively collaborate with government partners and application teams to ensure that software meets security, SLA, and performance requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Expert-level knowledge of at least one infrastructure-as-code tool (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Expertise in key DevSecOps concepts, including software installation, virtualization, containerization, and networking.
  • Experience with EKS/Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitHub pipelines, and DataDog dashboards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and educate multiple audiences about the importance of security throughout the software development life cycle.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications, such as GIAC DevSecOps or Certified DevOps Security Professional (CDSP).
  • Experience with Java and React development.
  • Federal contracting experience.
