Job Description

  • Supports development & processing of bevel and cylindrical gears for various automotive and commercial applications to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced prototype lab environment.
  • Works closely with the design and application group to specify gear development requirements, quality levels, performance levels and program scheduling
  • Sets up, programs, and operates Gear Development Center machines and inspection equipment to produce parts for various prototype programs.
  • Assists in evaluating and recommending new equipment, processes, and software.
  • Participates in product design/development review meetings.
  • Assists production facilities with troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
  • Assist benchmarking and performing competitive gear analysis requests.
  • Participates and assists with PPAP's and new product launches at domestic and international facilities.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Thorough understanding of typical metal part processing tooling, machines, machine set ups, operation, and prints.
  • Proficient in setting up (programming, tooling, etc.) and operating gear processing machines.
  • Experience with gear evaluations using CMMs and other inspection equipment.
  • Familiarity with gear processing equipment.
  • Experience in gear design software.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% U.S. & International.
  • Available to work overtime if required.
