Position Overview:
As a Retail Deployment Senior Lead Technician, you will be the resident expert and consultant for Retail customer environments. You will provide hardware, software, and structure cabling technical service. Your expertise will be used for support of installation, configuration, and problem resolution in Retail IT/Network/Infrastructure environments. You will complete proper inventory and asset recording processes prior to and during delivery and complete appropriate paperwork as required for customer acceptance. On a regular basis, sometimes with short notice, you will travel to customer locations nationwide, so a flexible work schedule is a must. You will also be responsible for leading and guiding other field technician resources remotely and in person.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through effective communication and superior technical support.
  • Install, configure and support new hardware and software infrastructure.
  • Ensure that hardware and software systems are maintained.
  • Provide technical support to users with very different levels of IT knowledge and competence.
  • Create work instructions, run books, and installation documentation.
  • Act as the technical liaison between the Zones team and the customer
  • Travel to customer locations and possess a flexible work schedule, this will require overnight stays.
  • Lead the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of in-store Retail IT products.
  • Provide detailed, professional assistance to customers for technical inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and resolving concerns related to products and services.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of all retail products, services, warranties, and troubleshooting procedures to provide technicians and customers with accurate information and timely solutions.
  • Ensure that all customer repairs and installations meet or exceed company standards for quality and performance.
  • Ensure that all necessary tools and test equipment are available to the field technicians to deliver Five Star Service.
  • Lead the development of ongoing Retail technical training curriculums for field technicians.
  • Responsible for your own vehicle with mileage reimbursement for local travel.
  • Provide own cell phone (monthly company reimbursement)
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you will bring to the team:
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred and at least 5 years of strong experience with Retail IT systems, related peripherals, structure cabling, and common software programs and Operating Systems.
  • 5+ years' experience with desktop/laptop hardware.
  • 5+ years' experience with structure cabling.
  • A+ certification
  • Cabling and communication expertise should include Coax, Copper, Wireless, VOIP, and Fiber technologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% (including a weekend departure, traveling during off-hours, and frequent overnight stays)
  • Experience in leading and directing teams (provide training and support)
  • Extensive Retail and Point of Sale experience
  • Server and Network rack and stack connectivity
  • Familiarity with standard Windows O/S and Office suites.
  • Apple iOS knowledge
  • Ability to thoroughly and accurately perform inventory and asset recording and complete paperwork as required by customer, including vendor warranties.
  • Ability to perform final configuration tasks on customer premises.
  • Digital Signage experience desired
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
