Willdan is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to review project and inspection data for energy efficiency projects to ensure program quality in New York City area. This role will ensure internal and external review of program and project data to be in strict compliance with utility program expectations for project verification.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and implement the Company's internal verification process and field verification process to support Client's energy efficiency programs
  • Align the Company's QA/QC procedures and processes with program requirements
  • Review of project documentation including program applications, scopes of work, equipment specification sheets and certificates, field verification guides, M&V reports, inspection punchlists, etc.
  • Review of energy savings calculations to ensure inputs are appropriate for the intended operation of the energy conservation measure
  • Liaise with client's QA/QC, M&V and engineering departments
  • Schedule and direct the work of inspection personnel
  • On occasion, perform site inspections for high profile projects/customers
  • Develop reports to monitor, measure and track performance against relevant metrics
  • Work across different program functionalities (e.g., program management, subcontractor recruitment & training, data management, engineering, etc.) to review program findings related to quality
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging best practices
  • Serve as a resource to staff and contractors to ensure knowledge of the Company's quality standards and ensure compliance to all quality processes and procedures
  • Engagement in any and all areas critical to meeting program objectives

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Strong technical and conceptual understanding of residential/multifamily building science, energy efficiency and utility energy efficiency programs
  • Strong technical knowledge of electric saving ECMs including chiller plant upgrades, air-side/water-side equipment, motors, VFDs, DCV, etc
  • Strong technical knowledge of gas savings ECMs including boiler plant upgrades, EMS, 1 pipe/2 steam RCx
  • High level of oral and written communication skills including public speaking and client and internal presentations
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills
  • Sound reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Adaptability; comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Cultural competence; the ability to think and act across the traditional boundaries of function and organizational cultures
  • Intellectual curiosity; a deep hunger for continuous learning, improvement and growth
