In this paid internship, you'll be empowered to work on challenging and complex issues in a collaborative environment with other talented interns. Over the 10-week program, you'll participate in business projects, mentoring, leadership development training and team-building activities designed to set you up for professional success. The summer Internship program runs June through August, with flexible dates available, based on school schedules. Interns who perform well and demonstrate a commitment to our values of integrity, creativity, teamwork, passion, and excellence may be extended employment opportunities with Western Alliance Bank.

Department Overview

Human Resource (HR) professionals across HR functions engagement support our people throughout the entire employee lifecycle. HR members work collaboratively across functions to attract, retain, and develop top talent needed to deliver the Bank's strategic objectives. . Two of these HR functions include HR Services (HR Operations), and Talent Acquisition.

HR Services (HR Operations) - provides tier one support to help execute the Bank's strategic and tactical people plans. You'll be a part of our HR Operations team that supports our managers and employees with processing key people-related administrative tasks and transactions, as well as aiding with queries regarding the Bank's people-related policies, programs, and platforms.

Talent Acquisition -executes the Bank's hiring strategy of building a workforce of highly capable, top performing talent. You'll be an integral part of the Talent Acquisition team, helping to ensure an efficient and effective recruitment process. You will leverage strong relationship building, organization, and communication skills to manage recruiting activities.

*As the Bank grows, HR supports the business (our clients) to scale. This includes you working on projects and initiatives to ensure that the HR Services and Talent Acquisition functions are effective, efficient, and scalable in order to support the needs of the business.

What you'll need:

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in an Undergraduate program with a focus in Human Resources. (Prefer that you are entering into your Junior or Senior year in the Fall 2025)
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision
  • An interest in working in the Commercial Business Banking industry
