Technical Product Specialist

Primary Duties:



  1. Assist customers in resolving product issues such as installations, code compliance, and product applications.
  2. Assist in product testing and performance criteria
  3. Provide building and code compliance expertise based on product lines for both domestic and international markets
  4. Specification writing and development
  5. Assist in product and technical training for employees, distributors, and customers
  6. Provide technical support for Sales and Customer Service
  7. Complete required LEED forms for internal/external purposes as a backup role.
  8. Work closely with Interior Design Services and Product Management to develop interior building environments that showcase our products.
  9. Use Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to create photo-real application renderings.
  10. Assist in the creation and management of BIM objects

Job Specifications:



  • Knowledge in door and wall protection products and other divisions
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office utilizing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read blueprints, elevations, and drawing plans
  • 2-year technical degree or appropriate work experience
  • Effective writer
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Communicate effectively both internally and externally
  • Experience with the use of 3D Rendering software.


Job Relationships:



  • Reports to Senior Director of Product Design & Development
  • Coordinate efforts with various departments such as Sales, Product Management and Development, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Quality, and Marketing.



Authority:



  • Assists with hands-on training for new employees
  • Initiate corrective action for product/process improvements
  • Update and maintain TDM
  • Negotiate costs with vendors
