Job Description

Position: Process and Project Engineering Co-op/Internship

Primary Location: Remote within US. Ideally based out of Dallas TX, Atlanta GA, Tampa FL or St-Louis MO.

Schedule: Full time hourly

Reports To: Project Team Manager

Compensation: $22 - $29 per hour.

Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process.

SCOPE OF POSITION:

This position is directly involved in assisting the Corporate Engineering Team and the Water Chemicals business in process optimization, process modularization, and project execution. The primary focus of the co-op will be process design with an emphasis on safety, process improvements, modularization, documentation, and small project management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Understanding, upholding, demonstrating and improving the Chemtrade safety culture
  • Understanding the variety of Water Chemicals division products and manufacturing processes.
  • Provides technical information to the engineering, operations and maintenance functions as requested.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and modularization.
  • Assisting the Process Team and Process Systems Specialist with identifying and standardizing process equipment layouts, equipment packages, and product line technologies.
  • Inputting and re-organizing information with regards to standards and specifications.
  • P&ID updates
  • Establishing, implementing, and sustaining process safety information.
  • Assisting with CAPEX projects that are directly related to process modularization.
  • Any other duties as assigned that are deemed to pose a minimum risk.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Education: 3rd Year+ Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Student
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 / 4.0
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in all areas of engineering, computers, and engineering programs as expected from a chemical engineering student (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, etc.). Good organization and communication skills.

Students will be brought on for 4 -12 months with preference given to students who can accommodate longer terms
