DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Administrative Assistant 1, your key responsibility is to provide administrative support services to the staff of the Bureau of Forestry, Susquehannock State Forest, Forest District 15 by preparing personnel, purchasing, and budget documents for the Forest District Manager's signature. Work includes interpreting Bureau and Department procedures and policies relating to the above and establishing internal guidelines ensuring that all District personnel are properly following policies and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime: As needed for fire, search, dispatch.
  • Travel: As needed for trainings and meetings.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Ad-hoc available after a successful 6-month probationary completion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Coudersport.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
