Job Duties |
The primary duty of this position is to perform skilled work required to disassemble damaged or worn kitchen equipment on site or in a designated area; carries out repair and rebuild operations such as rewiring, replacing bearings, bushings, brushes and centrifugal or on-off switches. Performs the maintenance and repair of a variety of electrical appliances, tools and other equipment as assigned; maintains and repairs a variety of major appliances and related equipment in dining locations such as ovens, food mixers, salad cutters; food carriers, compactors, electric ranges, dishwashers, scales, steamers, food fryers, steam kettles, steam tables, bakery ovens, warmers and other parts and components as necessary. Diagnoses defects and makes minor or major repairs in airscreens, deli coolers, ice machines; refrigeration units and any equipment requiring Freon. Will assist in training contractors' staff on preventive maintenance of equipment. Keeps records and makes reports of work accomplished and materials used.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair: 80%

Will be part of a rotation and be "on-call" for emergency coverage of dining during non- business hours. Responsible for determining on how and when the situation will be handled/resolved.
Public Contact Responsibilities: 10%
This position will work with other University employees and outside contractors as necessary to accomplish work. Will provide assessments and recommendations of the purchase of new equipment and facility upgrades and renovations
Equipment Management: 10%
Will manage and maintain all records for a specific departmental records (as an example,
ECU Inventory. Financials for spend of equipment repair and life of). Responsible for providing an annual summary to the department. |
Minimum Education/Experience |
