Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Revenue Cycle Education Specialist

Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift

Position Location: Sentara Patient Accounting/Norfolk, Virginia--Hybrid Position

Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET).

Position Summary:

Performs a variety of education project development and mentoring tasks to meet the needs of the Revenue Cycle at each facility. Responsible for developing relationships with the leaders of the functional areas tasked with supporting and enhancing the education program by providing feedback to Revenue Cycle Leadership, and teaching, coaching, and mentoring of team members, based off direct observations from supported areas. Required to support multiple functional areas and travel between facilities, based on the needs of the departments they are tasked with supporting.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years Registration, Billing or Collections experience required.
  • Hospital Billing, follow-up and Denials experience strongly preferred
  • Special Commercial Payers experience strongly preferred
  • Word Processing, Spreadsheet & Presentation Software experience required.
  • Knowledge of Revenue Cycle software systems required (HBOC,MCKESSON, EPIC PRELUDE/RESOLUTE), EPIC knowledge strongly preferred .

3 years Registration, Billing or Collections experience required. For HIM team, 3 years chart completion, chart correction, release of information coding or auditing experience required.

Word Processing, Spreadsheet & Presentation Software experience required.

Knowledge of Revenue Cycle software systems required (HBOC,
MCKESSON, EPIC PRELUDE/RESOLUTE).
