Position Summary

This role combines practical, hands-on work with strategic responsibilities within the Enterprise Architecture team. You will establish technical strategies, define enterprise communication and network architectures, and lead solution implementations from a technology perspective.

The position provides technical guidance and roadmaps to network and communications engineering teams, serves as a technology and best practices evangelist, and ensures that implementations adhere toenterprise architecture standards and principles.Additionally, you'll advise technical management and business areas on key architectural decisions regarding platforms and supporting technologies. Your work will result in scalable, maintainable, dependable, secure architectures that meet performance, reliability, and security requirements.

As a representative of the Enterprise Architecture Team in Enterprise IT, you'll work to develop enterprise network and communications architecture. This includes providing continuity on major solution decisions, communicating technology solution value across all levels of the company, and ensuring solutions are implemented according to the defined solution architecture and technical standards.

Grade: 18

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Design and plan enterprise communication and network architecture, including complex interactions of IT systems.
  • Develop enterprise networking architectural patterns, approaches, and design solutions, and research new technologies.
  • Prepare network and communication architecture assessments, present options, and make recommendations to facilitate executive decision-making.
  • Create standards and roadmaps, and develop recommendations for migrating to future standards.
  • Design, architect, and automate on-premises, wide area, and cloud networking solutions. Design a multi-site, multi-cloud network infrastructure.
  • Partner with vendors to select appropriate technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop consensus, drive results, and execute projects across the organization on time and within budget.
  • Manage several simultaneous initiatives from conception through implementation.
  • Contribute to standards and design patterns, delivering solutions tailored to internal business requirements.
  • Provide 3rd level support and input as required to teams diagnosing reported issues, providing root cause analysis to management and business teams.
  • Work closely with senior management, architecture, application managers, and IT operations teams.
  • Enhance efficiency via automation wherever possible. Cross-train other team members on projects and network technologies.
  • Address security requirements across the enterprise through appropriate people, processes, and technology.

Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills essential and ability to handle competing priorities.
Experience in IT, with experience in system design.
Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information modeling methods.
Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis and design, and statistical programming languages, and database query language (SQL and NO SQL based).
Familiarity with enterprise level business intelligence and data warehousing platforms.
Understanding of basic statistics, machine learning algorithms, multivariate calculus and linear algebra.
Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth experience designing and implementing enterprise information solutions.
  • Enterprise or application architecture certification preferred (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
  • CCIE or equivalent technical certification is beneficial.
  • Experience architecting and working with large-scale IP networks with multiple routing domains and service providers, including routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
  • Extensive experience in layered solutions and designs, diverse technical configurations, across multiple technologies and processing environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture practices in an organization.
  • Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information modeling methods.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building abilities. Ability to influence and persuade without direct control.
  • High degree of flexibility and ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization with diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong desire to drive change and adapt quickly.
  • Recognized as a thought leader.
  • Ability to develop opportunities, pitch, and deliver projects involving network transformation, network roadmaps, automation and SD-WAN with SASE, software-defined data centers, data management and analytics, IoT, remote access, WAN cost optimizations, etc.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study, or equivalent project-related technical experience.
Required Certifications
Working Environment
Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.
Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events.
Physical Demands
