AESC is looking to add a Global Head of Design & Digital to our global communications team.

AESC is expanding its footprint in the United States with gigafactories in Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee to meet the growing demand for EV and BESS batteries and strengthen its presence in the North American market. AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational since 2012, produces batteries for Nissan. The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply Mercedes-Benz with high-performance battery cell modules. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply technology-leading battery cells for new electric models produced in BMW Group's Spartanburg plant. About the Role

AESC's Global Communications Team is seeking a seasoned visual design leader with a strong background in branding and digital communications to lead our global digital strategy and branding efforts. This individual will spearhead creative design strategies, elevating AESC's visual identity across platforms, events, and external campaigns. The candidate will oversee in-house and external creative resources, ensuring consistency in brand storytelling, and design quality while aligning visual outputs with the company's strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in creating and managing visual and branding design campaigns and strategies for major brands, and demonstrate strong digital acumen for growing brands. Experience in a design firm, advertising agency, or a senior in-house role for a corporate design/digital team is highly preferred.

This role will report to AESC's Head of Corporate Communications.

What You Will Do
  • Oversee Digital Strategy and Enhance Digital Storytelling
    • Create digital communication strategy and create visually engaging content for AESC's social media platforms, website, and recruitment campaigns.
    • Develop dynamic, creative campaigns that highlight the company's narrative to stakeholders, customers, and recruits.
  • Lead Visual and Branding Design
    • Develop and oversee AESC's global visual and branding strategy, ensuring a cohesive and compelling identity across all digital platforms, marketing materials, and external campaigns.
    • Lead the creative direction for key projects, including graphic design, multimedia content, event displays, and stage design for global events.
  • Vendor and Team Management
    1. Manage relationships with external vendors, including design agencies, video production teams, and event staging firms, to ensure high-quality output and alignment with AESC's brand guidelines.
    2. Provide leadership and mentorship to in-house creative teams, fostering innovation and skill development.
  • Collaborate Across Teams
  1. Work closely with internal departments such as HR, ESG, Legal, and Plant Management to align visual storytelling with corporate goals.
  2. Partner with recruitment teams to create compelling visuals and campaigns that highlight AESC's work environment and culture.
  • Support Global Communications Goals
  1. Align branding and design outputs with AESC's communications strategy to reinforce its leadership in the EV and energy storage industries.
  2. Ensure all visual assets contribute to the company's vision of becoming a global leader in sustainable energy solutions
Qualifications
What You Need
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Visual Design, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field, though not required.
  • Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in branding and visual design, with proven success in leading creative projects.
  • Strong experience in digital and social media design strategies is a plus.
  • Expertise
  • Extensive knowledge of visual design principles, branding, and creative storytelling.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and familiarity with video editing software.
  • Skills
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating expertise in branding, digital content, and multimedia campaigns.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across global teams and vendors.
  • Strategic thinking with a sharp eye for detail and design quality.
  • Experience managing and inspiring creative teams to produce innovative work.
What is "Nice to Have"?
  • Experience in the EV, battery manufacturing, energy, or technology industries.
  • Professional-fluent English.
  • Start-up experience or familiarity with agile environments.
Travel

Occasional domestic and international travel required.
