What does a Manager, Sustainability at Swire Coca-Cola do?

The Manager, Sustainability will assist in setting the company's Sustainable Development Strategy, roadmaps, goals, and lead projects that drive the implementation, communications, and integration of sustainable practices across the company in the numerous areas


Responsibilities:



  • Manage the sustainability data systems as well as the collection and reporting of sustainability data and metrics including water usage, energy usage, waste, recycling, and greenhouse gas emissions; and communicate those throughout the company and to external stakeholders including regular reporting to parent company and The Coca-Cola Company
  • Perform research, analysis, and provide recommendations on how the company can achieve its environmental sustainability objectives, including energy use, resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction, waste elimination, transportation, and education
  • Lead manufacturing teams to drive continuous KPI improvement in manufacturing facilities, which includes being an active member of the manufacturing operational review teams and assure sustainability focused capital projects are included in the budgeting process
  • Manage GHG emission tracking as SME, management of the carbon footprint, and maintaining reduction glidepaths and initiatives
  • Represent Swire Coca-Cola, USA with internal and external organizations; customers, governmental regulators, NGO partners, trade, scientific, and industrial groups, The Coca-Cola Company North America Environmental Committee, and the GEC global renewable energy work groups, including producing and reviewing environmental communications
  • Develop content and lead sustainability training for all Swire Coca-Cola, USA associates, including specialized training for Sales Teams
  • Lead the annual sustainability budgeting process and submittal for the U.S. portion of the public Sustainable Development Report



Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in a related field
  • Master's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in a related field preferred
  • 5+ years in sustainability
  • The ability to influence cross functional teams in order to make sustainability a priority and inspire people into action. Advanced skills in managing large sets of data including data collection systems
  • Strong understanding of advanced concepts of conservation and sustainable development, including energy conservation, waste management, resource utilization, water conservation, and environmental reporting metrics
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to practices outlined by sustainability regulatory agencies, including the U.S. EPA, and state and local government ordinances such as the City of Denver Energy Benchmarking Ordinance and city and municipality Recycling Ordinances and Guidelines
