Description

The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at the Columbia University Medical Center would like to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work in the lab of Dr. Andrew Teich. Our lab focuses on Alzheimer's disease, but through collaborations we also have projects that address other neurodegenerative diseases of aging. The PI is Director of the New York Brain Bank, and has multiple lines of investigation with unique, well characterized clinical cohorts that are generating high-dimensional omic data. This position is ideal for a motivated recent PhD graduate from a computational biology program who is interested in working with data from one of these studies to produce a high-impact publication in the Alzheimer's disease space.

Lab Mission/Purpose:

The Teich lab focuses on Alzheimer's disease, but through multiple collaborations we also have projects that address other neurodegenerative diseases of aging.


Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements:

Requires a Ph.D. and/or M.D. in a related field.

Minimum Skills Required:

Proficiency with R and Python; prior experience with single cell transcriptomic data

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time ofposting.
