Position Summary

The Sr. Project Engineering position requires broad technical knowledge and understanding in mechanical, structural, electrical and ocean engineering fields. The position involves managing technical aspects of offshore umbilical design and manufacturing projects. Cross functional engagement and ability to execute in a team environment interacting with internal departments including project management, procurement, manufacturing and testing as well as external clients, testing facilities, vendors, etc is required. Applicant must be capable of expressing and presenting technical information and ideas both verbally and in writing. Some travel is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

* Work with integrated teams to help develop solutions to the entire product line at Oceaneering's Panama City manufacturing facility.

* Work with the engineering team to complete day to day tasks. Lead project executions to generate key technical deliverables such as procurement specifications, manufacturing production documentation, design reports, assembly procedures, test plans, procedures, and final reports, etc.

* Coordinate the effective utilization of engineering procedures, methods, design reviews, reporting, documentation and archiving of data required.

* Direct engineers and designers to create and complete design package documentation.

* Understand and operate Oceaneering's design and analysis toolset with occasional assistance from more senior engineers.

* Determine design verification and validation requirements. Develop and improve engineering processes.

* Work on with the proposal team as technical lead. Ability to work on both budgetary and firm bid packages. Lead project executions and able to generate key technical deliverables for the bid package.

* Able to work independently through Exceptions & Clarifications process with a high level of understanding on types and verbiage to use.

* Help create standalone detailed design premises and reports to accompany both budgetary and firm bids for additional technical support. Prepares "one off" documentations to enhance bids to clients for project specific demands. Able to help provide historical solutions to apply them to active bids and be able to determine design verification and validation requirements.

* Able to generate validation or verification documentation with some assistance from other engineers and/or SMEs.

* Interface with internal stakeholders such as project management, process and manufacturing engineering, testing technicians and others at both the Panama City facility as well as other Oceaneering sites.

* Involved in global/local process improvement initiatives within the engineering communities. Be able to generate and update OII calculation(s) and other toolsets utilized by the Engineers.

* Lead and/or otherwise be intimately involved with various meetings with both internal and external clients.

* Build relationships internally within and across departments. Help developing less experienced employees and facilitate collaborative decisions.

* Without supervision, applies broad knowledge of one professional discipline or advanced knowledge of specific technical / operational practices. Complete understanding and wide application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, techniques and is responsible for specific tasks in a project.

* Makes decisions on complex and difficult situations independently. Displays confidence and ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations, and coaches others in making more routine decisions.

* Be able to take on stretched assignments, other duties as assigned and ability to support 24/7 operation.

* Travel both domestically and abroad on an infrequent basis. Be able to work in a hybrid environment.

* Aftermarket customer support including specialist/troubleshooting support.

* Support manufacturing/testing functions for questions, comments, concerns, or non-conformances when required.

* Ability to work remote as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

* BSdegree in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine or Ocean Engineering.

* Minimum five years engineering experience.

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures/reports, governmental regulations, client specifications, and industry specifications.

* Ability to write technical documents of various kinds as well as business or commercial correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and vendors.

* Experience in the use of Mathcad or other engineering calculation programs.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and Solidworks.

* A U.Sgovernment issued TWIC badge is required to obtain access to the Port of Panama City.

DESIRED

* Minimum ten years engineering experience in Oil and Gas industry.

* Active Professional Engineering License or equivalent.

* Experience in Process Improvement and Product Development.

* MS Degree in Mechanical, Marine, Electrical orOceanEngineering.

* Subsea product manufacturing experience (Umbilical's, EFL's, HFL's, SDU's, Subsea Trees, Manifolds etc.).

* Experience with subsea projects for exploration companies.

* Experience with renewable energy projects.

* Experience in client interfacing.
