The Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center with Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Behavioral Health Services constitutes a freestanding 100-bed acute care psychiatric facility which provides inpatient and intensive outpatient programs for adults and older adults diagnosed with psychiatric and dual disorders.

Job Overview:

The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of clinical and clinical/research activities that take place within the collaboration between Barnabas Behavioral Health Center and the Kleiman Lab at Rutgers. The scope of the job includes two broad categories: (1) co-facilitating group psychotherapy for concerns such as depression, anxiety, and suicide risk on the inpatient unit at Barnabas Behavioral Health Center and (2) local coordination and enrollment of any research studies that recruit patients from the inpatient psychiatry unit at Barnabas Behavioral Health Center. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: implementing and overseeing group psychotherapy, working with clinical staff members to facilitate the psychotherapy groups, recruiting patients for relevant research studies, and serving as a liaison between unit staff and the Kleiman Lab Research team. All methods of practice shall conform to written hospital policies and procedures and be carried out to the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree in Psychology or other related Human Services field or LPN licensure
  • Minimum 3 years experience on an inpatient psychiatric unit

Preferred:

  • BSW
  • Training and/or education in an adult psychiatric treatment setting

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day shift
  • Part-Time

Essential Functions:

  • Co-facilitates psychotherapy groups, coordinates delivery of group content, in collaboration with other unit staff. In some cases, will also deliver group content as a sole facilitator when needed and appropriate.
  • Reviews relevant clinical data (e.g., medical record, attendance at rounds, unit census) to identify potentially eligible research participants for collaborative studies carried out between BBHC and the Kleiman Lab.
  • Meets with patients to discuss research studies (including enrollment in the studies) and therapy groups as needed.
  • Consults with the treatment team as needed to determine the appropriateness of a given patent for a therapy group or a research study.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with the broader Kleiman Lab research team.
  • Documents all involvement with the patient s care in the chart.
  • Monitors the appropriate key processes associated with the discharge planning services.
  • Adheres to Attendance and Reliability Standards. Gives proper notification of absence or tardiness as per policy.
