Dotdash Meredith is seeking an accomplished, strategic and results-driven Sales Director to support the sales efforts of our innovative D/Cipher Intent Targeting Tool. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales leader with a proven track record in driving growth, building lasting client relationships, and navigating complex digital media and data solutions.The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in managed services sales, deep industry contacts, and a passion for driving growth in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

As the Sales Director of D/Cipher, you will be pivotal in identifying new business opportunities, cultivating senior-level client relationships, and ensuring that the sales team consistently exceeds revenue goals in this high growth environment.

The position is based in New York City offering a hybrid work environment, with the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.

About The Positions Contributions |

As the Sales Director for D/Cipher, you will contribute in several key areas:

1. Partner Support & Opportunity Identification

  • Collaborate with Sales Team: Provide strategic support to sellers by offering guidance on navigating agencies, brands, and Holdcos to close deals and build strong, long-term relationships.

  • Identify & PursueNew Opportunities: Take a hands-on approach in discovering new business opportunities, either by leading efforts yourself or collaborating with the sales team.

2. Proactive Sales Leadership

  • Drive Revenue: Play a pivotal role in identifying and bringing business opportunities to the table, steering your team to focus on high-potential prospects.

  • Shape Sales Strategy: Help define the sales direction, uncover potential leads, and initiate new revenue-generating initiatives.

3. Expert Knowledge and Sales Support

  • Deep Product Knowledge: Develop expertise in D/Cipher's data-driven insights and product offerings, enabling the team to craft tailored solutions for clients.

  • Sales Support: Assist sellers with compelling, data-driven sales pitches, ensuring they leverage the full potential of D/Cipher's audience intelligence.

4. Relationship Management

  • Client Relationship Building: Cultivate senior-level relationships with key stakeholders in agencies, Holdcos, and brands, leveraging Dotdash Meredith's data capabilities to drive client growth and retention.

5. Sales Strategy & Coaching

  • Team Development: Coach and mentor sellers to identify top sales opportunities, conduct impactful client presentations, and successfully close deals.

  • Achieve Revenue Goals: Drive the team's efforts to exceed revenue targets through effective sales strategies and performance optimization.

6. Event Representation & Proactive Outreach

  • Industry Presence: Represent Dotdash Meredith at industry events, cultivating new opportunities and helping the team capitalize on event-driven sales.

  • Cold Outreach: Assist with prospecting and outreach efforts to secure meetings with new clients, particularly those interested in leveraging D/Cipher across Dotdash Meredith's inventory.

7. Collaborative Problem Solving

  • Client Solutions: Collaborate closely with product and technical teams to address client needs, ensuring seamless execution of D/Cipher's solutions and an exceptional customer experience.

8. Retention & Growth

  • Client Retention: Focus on deepening client relationships, improving retention rates, and contributing to the overall growth of the business.

9. Client Feedback & Innovation

  • Product Feedback: Gather insights from clients to help refine D/Cipher's offerings and stay ahead of industry trends.

Minimum Qualifications & Job Requirements |

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience: 7-10 years of sales or partner management experience, ideally in digital media, data-driven solutions, or programmatic advertising.

Skills & Abilities

  • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead or support a sales team in a fast-paced environment, focusing on client success and revenue growth.

  • Sales Expertise: Deep knowledge of digital media, data, and programmatic ecosystems with a history of helping sellers close deals using data-driven insights.

  • Exceptional Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coach and guide sellers in prospecting and engaging with clients.

  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset with a passion for digital advertising and audience insights, particularly first-party data.

  • Networking: A robust network of industry contacts, particularly in the New York market, and a strong understanding of agency dynamics.

  • Proven Sales Record: Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and fostering long-term client relationships.

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
