Position Overview

The Inventory Control Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate management of our inventory. This position oversees inventory levels, analyzes data to identify trends, and implements strategies to optimize inventory control processes. It manages global cycle count and physical inventory processes and schedules and is responsible for developing tools and reporting to improve inventory visibility network wide. This role partners and engages with key internal stakeholder groups, such as Planning, Procurement, Distribution & Warehouse, Production, Finance, Risk Management, Ops Analytics, IT, Clinical Labs and others to execute on the company's business objectives.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee policies and processes of cycle counting and inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain physical inventory schedules and processes, consistent with finance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain reporting on inventory status and availability, including WIP, goods-in-transit, quality inspection, etc.
  • Partner with Distribution and Planning to develop a 3PL inventory strategy.
  • Work with warehouse leadership to ensure obsolete or excess inventory is segregated and scrapped. Support Planning in shelf-life controlled inventory planning.
  • Develop reporting on cycle count accuracy discrepancies, with root cause and corrective action trackers.
  • Partner with Finance and Internal Audit teams to confirm compliance across all regulatory oversight.
  • Educate and support inventory control staff, ensuring compliance with inventory management procedures.
  • Support future space planning at on-site warehouse and 3PL locations, partnering with Distribution teams to ensure adequate space for future growth, and efficient utilization of managed space.
  • Lead effort and provide directions on achieving high product availability and inventory accuracy.
  • Participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Process to understand supply demand required to support associated commercial products.
  • Collaborate with material planners in forecasting of and performing change control for consumables and reagent materials used in the lab.
  • Develop and improve 3PL material storage and shipping, driving movement and cost productivity.
  • Ensure requisition materials maintain designated inventory levels.
  • Improve Operations and materials cost productivity through cost savings and avoidance projects.
  • Establish and maintain quality records, according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) or study protocols, as directed.
  • Maintain inventory and associated records for raw materials, intermediates, disposables, consumables, reagents, and spare parts.
  • Develops training matrixes provides training or access to training to all corporate employees involved in Inventory Control.
  • Establishes and monitors KPIs and takes necessary actions when targets are not met.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirement.
  • Ability to travel between Exact Science locations.
  • Ability to travel 15% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a field as outlined in the essential duties; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of experience in a field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 7+ years of experience in an operations role in manufacturing or distribution or a field as outlined in the essential duties.
  • 5+ years of experience with Warehouse Management/ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of SAP experience.
  • ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Experience in a biotech manufacturing environment, preferably in a GMP and/or ISO 13485 environment.

Salary Range:

$74,000.00 - $118,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
