CNC LN81 OPERATOR

Line 81 Operator

The 81 Operator will perform several functions necessary to ensure that bent and flat glass is precision cut and ground to the specifications as defined in the product blueprint before glass is finished and shipped to the customer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Safely operates CNC
  • Meets production standards as defined by management.
  • Operates the equipment to desired process parameters and procedures.
  • Maintains integrity of process maintaining supply levels for CNC
  • Maintains accurate documentation through necessary record keeping including completing all paperwork assigned to workstation.
  • Communicates with Manufacturing Manager in a timely manner, all concerns related to safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Maintains the daily operation of the equipment.
  • Observes and adheres to all safety related rules and procedures.
  • Assisting in departmental housekeeping, maintaining a clean and orderly workstation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

List all education & experience required for the role. Include years of experience with specific requirements.

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing following detailed instructions as provided.
  • Ability to maintain production flow.
  • Basic knowledge or understanding of CNC
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to understand work processes, methods, and use of equipment.
  • Ability to communicate to supervisor any concerns related to safety, quality, and productivity.

DIFFICULTY OF WORK

Work consists of simple, routine, repetitive tasks. A moderate degree of care and skill is required to ensure completeness and accuracy of cut glass according to supplied specifications. A significant degree of care and skill is necessary to ensure that the process continues, and product delivery occurs with minimal amount of disruption.

RESPONSIBILITY

The incumbent is responsible for accurately performing drafting duties and all related work including advanced assignments that may be non-standardized or non-routine. The quality of work relies on the incumbent's engineering expertise and accuracy; errors in judgment can result in substantial monetary waste.

PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS

Incumbent has contact with other plant employees. The purposes of these contacts are to exchange information regarding specific standards to maintain production standards and goals.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Involves moderate effort exerted in lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and bending. Frequent heavy lifting of between five (5) and seventy (70) pounds may be necessary. Work is performed in a typical factory environment. Special care will need to be taken in the handling and cutting of both small and large pieces of glass.

SUPERVISION: This person supervises no one.

LICENSE NEEDED: None

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Manufacturing Manager

HOURS: 3rd Shift - Sunday-Thursday; 10:00pm-6:00am
