The Psychology Program, housed within the Division of Social Sciences of the College of Liberal Arts & Education at Saint Xavier University, invites applications for a full-time, annually renewable lecturer. The position is non-tenure track but is annually renewable pending performance, need, and financial ability. The area of expertise is open, but we particularly invite applicants with expertise in developmental, sociocultural, clinical/counseling, cognitive, or biological psychology, and/or whose expertise intersects multiple subdisciplines.
The Psychology major is one of the most popular majors in the university and prides itself on offering a strong undergraduate curriculum, providing ample student-faculty research opportunities, and supporting students' career mentoring and preparation. In addition, the Psychology Department serves various other majors and minors in addition to the general education social sciences requirement. Start date is in the Fall of 2025.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Teach 12 credit hours each semester in psychology courses related to one's area of expertise
- Mentor undergraduate students in student-faculty research
- Provide service to the program, college, and university

Qualifications

- Doctorate (Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.) in psychology or a closely related discipline preferred, Master's in psychology acceptable
- Evidence of or potential for excellent teaching, including use of evidence-based best practices in teaching and learning
