Lead Software Engineer

As a Lead Software Engineer on the CLM team with a strong focus on back-end development, you are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining key user-facing features integral to our customers and business. While your primary focus will be on the back-end, you should also have a solid understanding of front-end technologies to ensure seamless integration and optimize the overall performance of our applications. We are seeking a versatile engineer who is experienced in building responsive, accessible, and performant software for cloud applications. Additionally, you should have experience in developing software solutions using object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, and building scalable, highly available systems on the back-end. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the most recent advancements and industry standards in front-end development while also possessing knowledge of back-end technologies and best practices. Your role will involve guiding the team in embracing cutting-edge technologies and design methodologies to create resilient high-performing applications as well as ensuring efficient communication and integration between components and services.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager of Software Engineering.

Responsibility

• Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code in C#

• Work with complex set of services built with Transactional and NoSQL databases and queue engines

• Enhance applications deployed to cloud and on-prem environments

• Design and implement improvements to reliability, scalability and performance of multiple services

• Participate in an agile environment using Scrum software development practices, automated unit testing, continuous integration, code reviews, version control systems and automated build processes

• Research and implement new features, technologies, and standard methodologies to enhance user experience and application performance

• Raise issues proactively that might impact delivery commitments and work with the team to resolve them

• Fix production issues and maintain the code as needed

• Think about how to solve problems at scale and build fault-tolerant, responsive applications

• Articulate clear Software Engineering strategies, plans, goals and objectives across multiple Engineering domains, projects and teams, including cross-functional partners

• Lead troubleshooting and remediation quickly during high severity incidents

• Be responsible for sharing and adoption of standard processes for performance and availability for one or more functional area

• Contribute to and drive a culture of building scalable and highly available systems

• Identify, propose, and implement process improvements to continuously increase the team's productivity and efficiency

• Stay ahead of the latest development standard methodologies, tools, and frameworks, and share your findings with the team

• Work as part of a cross-site development team to drive design, implementation, testing and release of products

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

Basic

• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
• 12+ years industry experience in Software Engineering
• Experience with C#, JAVA or equivalent development
• Experience with service oriented architecture
• Experience developing software solutions using object-oriented methodologies and design patterns
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  
  

Preferred

• Knowledge of back-end development standard methodologies, including accessibility, performance optimization, and responsive design
• Knowledge and experience in high scale, highly available (99.99+) systems
• 4+ years professional experience building complex, scalable applications
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Curiosity and ability to learn new technologies and toolsets
• Experience with Microsoft technology stack (C#, .NET)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Passion for writing high-performance, reusable code for components that will be used across our product

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $171,500.00 - $277,025.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:

• Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
• Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
