JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Hazleton's Information Technology Department is seeking a dedicated and dynamic IT Generalist to join our team. If you are passionate about technology and eager to contribute to a vibrant campus community, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain IT systems, networks, and services at Hazleton campus.

  • Ensure compliance with university security standards and procedures.

  • Utilize automation tools for system efficiency and management.

  • Install, upgrade, patch, and maintain software, systems, and endpoints.

  • Configure and manage servers, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure reliability.

  • Support and enhance classroom AV technologies and provide AV support for campus events.

  • Manage network services, local firewalls, telecom rooms, and regional campus DHCP, DNS, IPAM, VOIP, and Analog systems.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot network issues using tools like Airwave, AKIPS, and OMS.

  • Assist with vulnerability assessments and resolve system threats.

  • Maintain documentation for network, systems, devices, backup, and disaster recovery.

  • Plan and execute system upgrades and technology deployments.

  • Serve as point of contact for CyberArk, Privileged Access Manager, and Hazleton VM hosting.

  • Manage Hazleton OU Enterprise Active Directory and Group Policy.

Additional duties may include occasional evening and/or weekend hours to provide technology setup, support, and breakdown for campus activities.

Typical Education and Requirements:

  • This position minimally requires Bachelor's Degree

  • Plus 3+ years of related experience.

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be willing to travel regionally as needed

Operation of a motor vehicle is part of the position's duties and a valid driver's license is required. Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check is required.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$68,200.00 - $102,300.00

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
