Walton Personal Philanthropy Group, a subsidiary of Walton Enterprises, seeks a data-driven, analytical, and results-oriented Business Data Analyst to join our team. About the Position
The Business Data Analyst will play a critical role in preparing reports and board presentations and in ensuring the ongoing accuracy and reliability of automated data inflow from multiple sources. This individual will work closely with the Senior Manager of Operations to develop customized reports and dashboards tailored to the needs of key stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Additionally, this team member will collaborate with a team of software engineers to validate, organize, and transform complex datasets into accessible and actionable data visualizations. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to handle confidential information with complete discretion. The ideal candidate shows a "can-do" attitude, thrives under pressure, and excels at managing a diverse range of tasks in a dynamic environment.

What you will do
The primary duties of the Business Data Analyst include the daily validation of large volumes of live data, ensuring accuracy and reliability by performing data quality checks to identify and resolve inconsistencies or anomalies. Additionally, the role involves transforming complex datasets into customized, comprehensive reports and collaborating closely with software engineers and other internal teams to develop robust and project-specific data solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

Data Validation and Integrity:
- Design and implement rigorous data validation processes to ensure the accuracy and consistency of large datasets from multiple, disparate sources.
- Perform thorough data quality checks and identify inconsistencies or anomalies, addressing issues proactively to maintain data integrity.

Requirements Gathering and Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with business users to understand data needs and translate them into actionable technical requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advocate for and align internal data structures and systems with our customized database's specific needs and requirements.

Data Management and Reporting:
- Optimize SQL queries, reports, and data pipelines to ensure data quality and reliability.
- Utilize reporting tools (e.g., SQL Server Reporting Services and PowerBI) to produce customized reports and analyses.

Business Intelligence Development:
- Contribute to the development and advancement of unique and innovative business intelligence capabilities tailored to support the organization's unique projects.
- Support the design and maintenance of data warehouse solutions.
Strategic Insights:
- Analyze validated data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Present findings clearly, concisely, and impactfully to facilitate decision-making.
Who we are looking for.
Qualifications required for your success
- 5+ years of full-time professional experience, preferably with exposure to general accounting practices and IT data solutions.
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, validation, or business intelligence roles
- Strong proficiency with various technology platforms, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiar with SQL, database management (e.g., SQL server databases), and data visualization tools (PowerBI, etc.)
- Experience validating large datasets from multiple sources, with an understanding of ETL processes and reporting tools like SSRS.
- Knowledgeable of business intelligence practices and data warehouse processes
- Knowledgeable in financial and accounting practices/procedures

Benefits Information
Compensation Range : $105,000-$125,000
