Overview
Amyx is seeking a leader of our newly established Program Excellence organization to oversee, cultivate, and scale Amyx's Program Management community. The mission of the Program Excellence organization is to be a working body of knowledge driving excellence in program management by fostering mentorship, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of training, standards, and best practices with transparency and innovation. Responsibilities will include ensuring Amyx program teams meet and exceed quality performance standards both required by contracts and from Amyx's Quality Management System. The candidate will also participate with their team in setting Management standards and best practices for implementation into Amyx growth pursuits. This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), serve as a member of the Amyx's Program Operations Leadership Team, and work closely with Amyx C-level leadership in formulating and executing numerous corporate strategies. This position will be based at Amyx Headquarters in Reston, VA and may require travel.
Responsibilities
Lead the formulation, interpretation, and implementation of all Amyx Program Management policies, procedures, and initiatives to include, but not limited to, Program Management Training, Program Reporting, and Program Management Tools & Templates.
- Lead an organization that provides oversight of all Amyx Program Management activities that includes program reporting and management training.
- Partner with Amyx internal organizations to develop and implement a comprehensive Program Management Training curriculum aimed at the continued professional growth of Amyx's Management community.
- Oversee the development of Amyx's Program Management Application (PMA) providing PMs a single pane and dashboard of all Program Management related actions.
- Serve as subject matter expert and provide oversight and execution of all program transitions.
- Lead the evolution of Amyx's Centers of Excellence (COEs), providing an innovative platform to continue to scale the company's catalog of services.
- Organize and implement formal Manager meetings/offsites to reinforce the standards of an Amyx Program Manager.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to enhance Amyx's Human Capital Plan and lead efforts to fully develop and execute a Management Track which will provide a path for growth and career development for Amyx's Program Management community.
- Lead an organization that will serve as the subject matter experts on Amyx Management solutions for all new business pursuits.
- Lead a team of Program Excellence leaders supporting all organizational efforts.
- As needed, provide ad-hoc support to special projects to the COO.
You'll need to wear many hats including:
- Leader: You're detailed- and process-oriented and adeptly manage several projects/initiatives and employees at once with supportive direction. You have relentlessly high standards and attention to the smallest details with the ability to adapt to change quickly.
- Problem-Solver: You understand intent and goals for a project, propose plans to meet those needs, and autonomously pursue options to deliver results in a well-managed manner. You bring in data and metrics to ensure we're moving the ball down the field.
- Juggler: You don't get overwhelmed or flustered easily as you're able to aptly prioritize and toggle between multiple high-project projects and processes successfully. You seek guidance to reprioritize as needed to adjust with changing business needs and take action with urgency as appropriate.
- Player: You are involved in executing various aspects of each project being worked by the Program Excellence organization. You are highly motivated and willing to roll up your sleeves and get the job done, even in situations where the work is outside of the scope of your immediate role.
- Coach/Mentor: You are a sounding board for Amyx PMs, provide guidance, and counseling when needed across various scenarios in the PM lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related business or technical discipline required.
- 10+ years of experience in program/portfolio management in a government contracting or professional services environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Active DoD preferred.
- Experience managing successful client delivery teams with significant, demonstrable experience improving process and procedures.
- Experience in program governance, process optimization, and training development.
- Experience developing, documenting, and rolling out program management processes.
- Evidence of strong leadership and mentorship skills, along with experience coaching and developing program managers and senior leaders.
- Background and general understanding of Cybersecurity, Enterprise Technology Services, Data Analytics, and SETA support services preferred.
- Expert communication and writing skills.
- Strong proficiencies with Microsoft Windows-based tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and TEAMS.
- Superior business etiquette and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a "roll up your sleeves" attitude.
- Must be detail oriented and able to function effectively in a fast paced, multitasking work environment.
- Ability to mentor and coach staff ranging from Program Managers to Senior Vice Presidents.
