Summary/Objective

Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for creating a welcoming team environment where all production associates can thrive. They are responsible for directing the day-to-day workflow of the back of the store as a first-line supervisor and backroom operations and supervision in the absence of the General Manager. Builds effective teams through 1:1 training, consistent communication and coaching to ensure successful performance of all production team members. A role model for a positive attitude, leadership and professionalism.

  • Conducting performance reviews
  • Communicate weekly supply and inventory orders to General Manager or Assistant General Manager
  • Responsible for on-hand product levels
  • Training and development of production staff
  • Coaching staff and mentoring Team Leads
  • Transfers of product to other departments
  • Maintaining 5S standards for workspace
  • Meeting budget numbers by maintaining the appropriate ratios of expense, revenue and salaries
  • Create associate schedules to meet the needs of the business
  • Interviewing and recommending candidates to the General Manager for hiring
  • Onboarding new production associates in policies, procedures and standards
  • Hold staff accountable for compliance of policies and procedures and providing a high level performance
  • Conduct production processes efficiency inspections daily to ensure the quick placement of high-quality, processed goods to the sales floor
  • Verifying loss prevention and process flow guidelines are followed and communicated to LP Officer
  • Document policy violations and communicate to the appropriate chain of command
  • Ensuring the physical safety of the back room
  • Communicating safety issues and concerns to ensure quick resolution
  • Actively participate in the production process daily
  • All other duties assigned by the General Manager



Work Environment

This job operates in a production warehouse environment with merchandise displays and items available for purchase in inventory.

Physical Demand

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel

This is a full-time position; required days to work are Sunday through Saturday. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend, night, and holiday work. This position may require up to 10% travel between stores.

Qualifications

The Production Manager will be a proven leader with the following:




  • The candidate should have a minimum of 1-year supervisory experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred


  • Familiarity with safety requirements in a warehouse/retail environment


  • Basic understanding of legal requirements regarding employment


  • Strong work ethic, character and integrity


  • Solid judgment and common sense in decision making


  • A positive, supportive attitude to staff and customers


  • Recognition of and avoidance of any conflict of interest with staff, product or customers


  • Effective, appropriate and professional communication and demeanor


  • Recognition of and adherence to a higher standard as a member of management


  • Strong organization and multi-tasking ability


  • Ability to document incidences appropriately


  • Commitment to mission of the organization


  • Maintenance of valid driver's license, insurance and acceptable MVR
