Position Summary

Responsible for accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product to meet company's productivity, security, and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (The following statements describe the general nature of work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management):



  • Picks products off shelves based on customer orders.
  • Packs product for shipment and verifies order has been accurately picked.
  • Loads and unloads freight.
  • Moves product for storage utilizing proper equipment.
  • Maintains neat, clean, and orderly work area.
  • Assists in maintaining security in the warehouse.
  • Participates in physical inventories.



Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications



  • High school education and up to three months experience.


  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.


  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.



Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use fingers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift/move up to 10 pounds. The employee must frequently stand, talk, hear, lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally sit, climb or balance, and lift/move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision in order to view PC/CRT.



Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
