Bringing Home the Dough

Role is responsible for performing a variety of skilled, technical, supervisory, and administrative work in the planning, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of wastewater treatment plant systems.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor directs the operation, maintenance and preventative maintenance of

the Wastewater Treatment system, including, but not limited to the Treatment Plant, the Industrial Pretreatment Plant and sludge Disposal properties and systems.

As a plant supervisor, this position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the Wastewater Treatment Plant and its peripheral operations to ensure efficient, economical and safe operation in accordance with local, State and Federal requirements.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

* Responsible for the operation of the plant wastewater and DAF system.
* Provide instruction to personnel on all aspects of the Wastewater Treatment System operations and maintenance.
* Inspect work in progress of employees for completeness for compliance with safety requirements.
* Monitor and maintain pumps, blowers, DAF, and other wastewater processing equipment.
* Schedule and log daily crew assignments.
* Develop preventative maintenance programs for the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
* Maintain good employee relations.
* Assist in developing the annual budget for the operations of the wastewater treatment complex and monitors budgetary expenditures, including cost-of-service studies for rate setting.
* Ensure that work areas are cleaned and organized during assigned shift.
* Notify Engineering Department and ESS of any repairs or concerns that are out of capabilities of the local wastewater team.
* Supervise subordinate plant personnel providing adequate direction, discipline, support, education and training to accomplish given tasks.
* Complete annual performance evaluation for teams' training needs, abilities and competency levels.
* Ensure Wastewater Team understands requirements of notifying the City or ESS manager.
* Supervise the Wastewater Lead and Wastewater Technician.
* Train new employees.
* Perform oxidizer PMs and checks.
* Ensure all emergency PMs are being done properly and timely (fire extinguishers, ladders and platforms, emergency lights, eye wash stations, etc.).
* Participate in or delegate a team member to join Safety Walks, GMP Food Safety Walks.
* Complete basic building repairs and ZR's (items from Safety and Food Safety Walks).
* Assist Engineering personnel as necessary.
* Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.).
* Perform other duties as directed by supervision.
* Perform other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

One or two years experience in plant maintenance/engineering and/or industrial waste water systems. Demonstrated knowledge in Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning; Refrigeration, Welding, Electronic/Electrical Equipment repair, Industrial Equipment installation, start-up, repair, etc.

Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements

Associate Degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology and/or equivalent formal training and work experience Completion of formal management skills training program.
