DEKA Research & Development, housed in Manchester, NH, has an exciting opportunity for a Machine LearningInternto work on a range of problems in Generative-AI and Computer Vision in a dynamic R&D environment. In this role, you will work alongside a group of passionate engineers to do research and solve the challenging AI problems including developing, prototyping, and testing advanced multi-modal foundation models as well as computer vision models for real problems.

DEKA offers Internships and Co-Ops for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). Internships last a minimum of 10 weeks, however 12 weeks is preferred. All Summer internships must start no later than June 17, 2024.

How you will make an impact:

  • Design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art deep learning models in the field of Generative AI and/or Computer Vision.
  • Research and evaluate the performance of the new ML architecture on real-world and simulated data sets to solve challenging real problems.
  • Translate generated algorithms into production-level code
  • Collaborate with various teams to achieve objectives in improving system performance and safety
  • Integrate with existing software practices that produce maintainable code, including automated testing, continuous integration, code style conformity, and code review

Skills we are looking for:

  • Currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD program in CS, ECE, or similar engineering field.
  • Must have very good experience in Python programming (C++ programming is a plus).
  • Must show in-depth understanding of deep learning concepts and techniques in Computer vision and General AI.
  • Must have experience in at least one of the deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, Keras, etc.
  • Must have knowledge in at least one of the following deep learning models: Transformers, vision Transformers, CNNs, GANs.
  • Experience working with Multi-modal foundation models.
  • Experience working with computer vision models for object detection, semantic segmentation, depth estimation,or 3D reconstruction.
  • Experience dealing with sensor data is a plus (camera, Lidar, radar).
  • Experience with real and synthetic data curation for real problems is a plus.
  • Ability to work with fast pace environments and implement new state of the art models.
  • Must show attention to detail verbally and written.
