As part of the IT Group, the Developer Manager will be a technical leader and manager responsible for leading and empowering the development team to deliver high-quality software solutions that align with the firm's objectives. The Developer Manager plays a critical role in bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholders, translating requirements into actionable plans, and driving the team's success.

  • Lead and manage the development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the team, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and prioritize initiatives
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Oversee the development process, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and industry regulations
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team
  • Contribute to the development of the firm's technology strategy
  • Conduct technical design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure quality and maintainability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues, providing guidance and expertise to the team
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and application within the firm
  • Ensure that robust QA/QC processes are in place and followed consistently throughout the development lifecycle Support the team in their QA/QC responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define UAT acceptance criteria and ensure user satisfaction with the final product
  • Advocate for the importance of clear and comprehensive documentation. Create standards that ensure technical documentation is maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications:

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a technical or management field is highly preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years experience in managing and leading development teams
  • Proven experience in leading teams and delivering successful software projects
  • Strong strategic planning and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Deep understanding of the firm's business objectives and how technology can support them
  • Experience in resource allocation, budgeting, and project prioritization
  • Strong leadership, management, and mentorship skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Deep understanding of software development methodologies and project management principles
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience in managing budgets and resources
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and presentations
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align technology initiatives with business goals
  • Expert-level proficiency in multiple programming languages and development frameworks
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with database design, optimization, and management
  • Experience with cloud technologies, distributed systems, and microservices architectures
  • Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices
  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages, including SQL, Stored Procedures, DDL; hands-on experience with databases (MSSQL)
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, specifically SCRUM and TDD
  • Strong knowledge of general algorithms, design patterns and good coding practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Understanding of APIs, data synchronization, powershell scripting

Base salary range:

$149,000 to $183,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California, New York City, and Washington markets.

Working conditions:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
