Job Summary
As a Sr. Software Engineer in NetApp's Cloud Platforms organization, you will work as part of a team responsible for actively participating in driving our Cloud solutions development and strategy. You will participate in activities that include designing, developing, testing and debugging of complex operating systems that run NetApp storage management applications in the Cloud. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Software engineers in this organization focus on enhancements to existing solutions, as well as new product development for all major Cloud providers. Job Requirements
* Strong oral and written communication skills are required * Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and have strong influencing and leadership skills -A minimum of 12 years of experience in software/systems engineering is required, with programming skills in C, C++, Python or equivalent * 5+ years of experience in data management systems & storage platforms for managing and storing data across various workloads and environments. (Ex: NetApp's ONTAP or similar systems) * Ability to operate as a technical lead to develop longer-range project plans and schedules to complete complex projects or new product development with a subteam of peers * Ability to convert vague and undefined requirements into clearly articulated ones * Works with limited supervision and can operate, drive results and set priorities independently * Demonstrated experience as a technical mentor to junior engineers in a team * Must work effectively with staff to senior leadership within the function, across functions and with external parties Education
