Startup Community Manager, Beck Venture Center

Engineering a world of possibilities
Since opening in April of 2024, the Beck Venture Center has quickly become a major node for innovation and startups in Colorado. Part of the Colorado School of Mines campus, we have over 31,000 square feet of coworking, event, and innovation space and have incubated over 60 companies, so far, that have raised over $30MM in funding. And we are just getting started!
In this role of Startup Community Manager, you will be the face of the Beck Venture Center. You will be working daily with cutting-edge startups as a master problem solver and networker to help them get the most out of the Beck. You will also be responsible for attracting and curating an amazing group of new startups, entrepreneurs, alumni, and others to join our growing community.

Responsibilities:
  • Community Engagement:
    • Create a warm and inclusive atmosphere within the coworking space to foster a sense of belonging for all members.
    • Act as a connector, introducing members to one another based on their interests, skills, and needs.
    • Organize and promote events at Beck to engage members and build community.
  • Member Relations:
    • Be the first point of contact for members, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing members, understanding their individual needs and providing personalized support.
  • Space Management:
    • Ensure the coworking space is well-maintained and conducive to productivity.
    • Oversee the setup and arrangement of communal areas, meeting rooms, and workspaces, ensuring they are functional and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Issue Resolution:
    • Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise among members, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Membership Sales:
    • Be the primary person on point to give tours of the Beck Venture Center to prospective members.
    • Manage and track the pipeline of prospective members.
    • Proactively follow up with prospective members on a regular basis to continue to engage their interest and convert them to paying members.
    • Regularly attend events at Beck to talk briefly to the groups about the benefits of becoming a Beck Member and connecting with prospective members.
    • Attend external events to engage with startup founders and entrepreneurs to build interested in Beck.
  • Onboarding:
    • Guide new members through the onboarding process, helping them set up their workspace and access amenities.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, communication, technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Attention to detail and a good eye for what makes a physical space welcome and inviting.
  • Proven experience in community management, customer service, or a related role.
  • Proficient in using communication and collaboration tools, as well as social media platforms.
  • Excellent networking abilities and a track record of building successful business relationships.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of the coworking industry and trends is a plus.
  • Proven experience in sales management, business development, or a related role within the coworking, real estate, or hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools to manage leads, track sales progress, and generate reports.

Annual Rate

$60,000 - $75,000

Mines takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, work location, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.
