The Opportunity

  • This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental health and safety management.

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems

  • Working in a regulated cGxP Environment

  • Learn basic Project Management skills

  • Real life experience with Industrial Hygiene Exposure Assessments, Equipment Safety Assessments, SHE Program Writing, and potentially Safety Training creation

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks , full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are (Required)

Required Education you meet one of the following criteria:

- Must be pursuing or attained a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or Public Health, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Chemistry

  • You will work closely with experienced professionals to implement safety initiatives and programs, conduct laboratory inspections, and participate in root cause analysis and corrective measures

  • This role also involves actively participating in continuous improvement projects and working closely with SHE leadership, engineering, and facilities teams

  • Support departments in implementing safety initiatives and programs

  • Assist EHS with laboratory inspections, Gemba, and regulatory inspections

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective measures for different incident types

Required Skills:

  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.

  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and contribute to group objectives.

  • Analytical Abilities: Strong research and analytical skills to evaluate data and identify trends.

Preferred Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with database or case management systems.

  • Computer literacy: Proficiency in using advanced digital tools and software.

This internship position is located in Carlsbad, California, on-site.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $20-$55 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
