The New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (
NJAES) is an integral component of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The experiment station provides a diverse range of research, extension, and education programs that serve the people of New Jersey and the urban, suburban, and rural communities in which they live. Through its Cooperative Extension offices in all 21 New Jersey counties, dedicated 4-H agents, Extension specialists, Family & Community Health Sciences educators, and Agriculture and Natural Resources agents work to serve New Jersey residents in every area of the state.
4-H is the youth development component of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, connecting youth and our community to Rutgers University (4-H Connects Kids with Rutgers). 4-H Science encompasses science, engineering, technology, and applied math. The history of 4-H is rooted in the concept of bringing new science and technology to the citizens by involving youth. 4-H Science programs reach more than 5 million youth with hands-on learning experiences to encourage young minds and help fill our nation's shortage of young leaders proficient in science, engineering, and technology. 4-H's approach is comprehensive and holistic-from agriculture to climate change to alternative energy-youth are learning about highly relevant complex systems and issues that will ensure their contributions to their communities today and their success as global leaders tomorrow. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Community Assistant II - Hudson County for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Coordinates with program staff and volunteers to provide professional youth development opportunities in Hudson County.
- Coordinates program schedules and site logistics based on the needs of the program site.
- Implements after-school enrichment programs alongside teen and college student volunteers.
- Creates appropriate program evaluation materials and impact reports.
- Creates and update 4-H paper and electronic marketing for the programs you are responsible for.
- Nurtures relationships with youth, developing programs that fit community need and interest.
- Coordinates publication review and revision with authors/subject matter experts.
- Supports the publication and revision process through active communication and record keeping.
- Assists with the collection of data and development of reports related to RCE programming efforts.
- Serves as liaison to support Hudson County families with relevant resources from 4-H and Rutgers.

Minimum Education and Experience |
- High School Diploma or GED.
