Summary: The Electrical Distribution Technician primary task is to maintain existing Electrical Distribution (Site) equipment/structure. Work in any of the following: DLA Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, VA (HQC), Defense Supply Center Richmond, VA (DSCR), Defense Supply Center Columbus, OH (DSCC), DLA Distribution Center Susquehanna, PA (DDSP), New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform maintenance and repair services.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical distribution equipment, including transformers, switchgear, panels, circuit breakers, and substations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical distribution issues to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability.
- Conduct system tests and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and contractors to support electrical system upgrades and modifications.
- All tasks include Life Cycle Management Cyber Security.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, components, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years in electrical distribution system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Ability to pass a background investigation
- Must be a US citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Licensed Electrician or equivalent industry certification preferred.
