Position Description

Plans, coordinates, publicizes, and implements special events, including social events, recognition celebrations, conferences, and meetings. Facilitates production of events by coordinating with performing groups, arranging publicity, and approving expenditures.

About the Department and/or College

Major/Essential Functions

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain program, student, and faculty informational databases and files.
  • Prepare reports (compiling and analyzing program statistics), program marketing, and communications.
  • Communicate with appropriate Health Sciences Center and main campus contacts, as needed.
  • Participate in strategic planning and assists with establishing program standards and objectives.
  • Complete other program-related duties, as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Independent judgment, strong organization and communication skills and a superior customer service focus.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects and meeting external, hard deadlines.
  • Ability to work with a diverse community including students, faculty, administrators.
  • Superb organization and communication skills.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus one year related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience equal to five years.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Knowledge of higher education and/or state institutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in higher education program management.
