Job Summary

We are currently looking for an Program Manager to join our team onsite in Holland, MI.

A Program Manager is responsible for:

Leading variety of special projects by managing team members who are cross functional and may be assigned fully to project or participate on part time basis. Responsible for project definition and scope, project management, people management, budget management, and delivery of defined measures and objectives. May work on multiple special projects simultaneously, based on workload and business needs. Some projects may be global in nature. Leading cross-functional team of resources in support of Product Engineering departmental goals and competitive strategic projects to plan, organize, and implement new products, product line enhancements, quality improvements, and cost reduction projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzes project scope and determines appropriate path and process to achieve defined objectives.Creates project plans.
  • Manages all aspects of project, including timeline, budget, staff requirements, reporting and delivery to ensure project completion.
  • Defines research needs and leads conducting of research with customers, dealers, sales team member and/or outside firms or vendors.Interprets with team research results and makes project recommendations based on findings to guide and support team initiatives.
  • Ensures project direction and results align with corporate strategic direction and market needs to ensure results are relevant for organization.
  • Manages major budgets with high degree of discipline in approving, monitoring, and reporting processes for cost containment and greater profitability.
  • Acts as primary contact for project and communicates project objectives, updates, and results to all appropriate audiences.This may involve speaking in front of executives and small to large groups of individuals inside and outside organization to communicate project objectives and progress to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and leads cross-functional and cross-sector team activities to ensure timely execution of all program elements.
  • Understands and utilizes standard costs and cost estimating system to develop and track project costs. Interfaces with Finance, Purchasing, and Manufacturing Engineering to develop cost data and manage development costs.
  • Follows Product Line Management lead in identifying customer needs and setting project goals to attain needs as project deliverables.
  • Interfaces with external suppliers, consultants, and agencies providing project support services to develop contractual agreements required by project.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
  • Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent field of study
  • Education Equivalency: Associate Degree plus 2 years additionalprogram managementexperience in new product developmentOR 4 years additionalprogram managementexperience in new product development
  • 7 years program managementexperience in new product developmentwith Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years program managementexperience in new product development with Master's Degree
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Ability to work and commute onsite daily to our headquarters in Holland, MI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • 10 or more years project manager experience in an OEM
  • "Fuzzy front end" program management experience
  • Experience must show progression of increasing complexity of project team assignments
  • Furniture industry experience

  • Ability to successfully lead and manage multiple complex projects using effective project management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent communication, including written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking and financial and business planning skills.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop people; built teams; deliver results; and facilitate change.
