Support patent group in management of confidential invention and patent portfolio. Analyze, assess, and problem solve intricate patent prosecution matters by tactfully investigating and collecting relevant facts and recommending a course of action to patent manager on a case by case basis. Review invention records and patent applications for inventors, applicant/ownership, federal sponsorship and entity status etc., before entering into patent and government databases. Prepare documents as needed to resolve complex and sensitive situations related to patent prosecution. Evaluate technical and legal files and docketing information for patent applications, issued patents and technologies. Interact with law firm representatives, attorneys, licensing officers and other internal department managers. Routinely handle confidential information including proprietary technical and commercial information that has great investment value and conflict of interest potential. Provide information to diverse groups regarding patent prosecution concepts. Provide backup support to other department groups (such as Licensing Officers, License compliance, Disclosure, Marketing and Accounting) as needed. QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $66,252 - $102,416 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $31.73 - $49.05 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
