The State University of New York, College of Optometry seeks outstanding researchers for tenure track faculty positions. Applicants must have a PhD with a record of funded research or strong potential and a commitment to teaching and education. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and conduct independent research in their area of interest, participate in didactic education in a related area, and participate in the colleges MS and PhD programs through appointment in the Graduate Center for Vision Research.

TheSUNYCollege of Optometry offers an intellectual community of collaborating clinicians, teachers, and researchers who work together on basic, translational, and clinical eye and vision research. The successful applicant will join a scientifically vibrant faculty community. Areas of basic and translational research currently conducted at the college include ocular anatomy and physiology, ocular pathology, cell and molecular biology of vision, and visual neuroscience and perception, Human subject research and clinical trials in a variety of areas including cornea and contact lens, myopia management, retinal diseases, and drug and device testing, are supported through the college's Clinical Vision Research Center (CVRC). The College is currently in a period of research growth with the creation of a Center for Translational Vision Research and expansion of theCVRC. The University Eye Center, the College's clinic, has one of the largest and most diverse optometric patient population in the country. The College of Optometry and University Eye Center are situated in the center of Manhattan's scientific, medical, and cultural activities.
