Position Title: Market Research Analyst

Status: Exempt - Administrative

Reports to: Director of Community Engagement

Overall Responsibility:

The Market Research Analyst is responsible for supporting Bosma Enterprises' strategic goals by proactively working on a variety of market research initiatives. The Analyst collects and analyzes data to evaluate existing and potential product and service markets, as well as programmatic offerings for people who are blind or visually impaired. It is the responsibility of the Analyst to identify and monitor competitors and research market conditions or changes in applicable industries that may impact the organization. They will also be responsible for analyzing performance benchmarks and conducting economic analysis. The Analyst position is a tactical role, which supports business development, sales, and program services to provide data that will help achieve our mission. They will also develop and present recommendations based on their research to management to enable critical decision-making relating to product and service offerings, brand awareness, and financial goals.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferably in marketing, market research, business, or a related field of study
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in qualitative and quantitative and qualitative market research activities gained at a corporate, agency, or government environment

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint). Prefer familiarity with the Salesforce platform
  • Proficiency with Alteryx software preferred
  • Proficiency analyzing data utilizing the latest statistical techniques and software
  • Proficiency with accessing syndicated databases for the purpose of performing market research analysis
  • Familiarity with requesting and analyzing FOIA data
  • Proficiency in using CRM software, Salesforce experience preferred
  • Proficiency with survey tools, such as SurveyMonkey
  • Ability to present complex marketing information effectively to customers, vendors, peers, and all levels of management
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment while sometimes working under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems and think analytically and critically
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter, reliable, and flexible

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions of the Market Research Analyst position consist primarily of, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Independently conduct complex market research to determine market share and other relevant business environment indicators
  • Accurately present findings in an appropriate and timely manner, including recommendations to guide the management team in making critical decisions based on key research data
  • Design and execute surveys, in-depth interviews, and focus groups to collect data from various sources. This could require working with outside vendors and within a set budget.
  • Make and assess FOIA requests to various government agencies, ensuring accuracy and specifics to gain needed data
  • Provide on-going expert knowledge to the company in the area of competitive market research analysis and provide support for efforts to expand development and sales efforts and program offerings
  • Monitor internal product, service and program performance, sales, and marketing activities and utilize category knowledge for all of Bosma's business lines and programs to provide useful analysis
  • Conduct financial analysis and reporting including market analysis, forecasting, and business performance metrics
  • Identify and qualify new products, services, and program marketing opportunities in support of Bosma Enterprises' mission
  • Compile valuable quantitative and qualitative competitive data on current or new products, services, and programs
  • Analyze and accurately interpret key data before presenting findings
  • Organize and maintain key information
  • Effectively manage timelines and projects
  • Create and send emails and 1:1 journeys in Marketing Cloud.
  • Other duties as assigned
