Under the general supervision of a Pharmacy Supervisor, the Outpatient Pharmacy Technician III is able to perform a full range of duties in a retail pharmacy setting. This position is responsible for improving medication access for UC San Diego Health Patients by investigating insurance benefits and completing the necessary work to provide the medication for the lowest possible out-of-pocket expense. They will work with pharmacists, other pharmacy colleagues, clinic staff and providers to achieve this. This position is also responsible for oversight of benefits investigation compliance and reporting any inconsistencies with that practice to the pharmacist in charge. Depending on experience and licensure of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Pharm Tech II or Pharm Tech III.
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $64,519 - $80,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $30.90 - $38.41 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
