Bachoco USAis seeking an Animal Welfare Technicianfor ourFort Smith, AR location.

Summary: Performs animal welfare audits on farms, animal production facilities, and animal processing facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Performs animal welfare auditing as assigned for hatchery, broilers, catching and transport, processing, pullets, and breeders.
  • Schedules and attends third-party animal welfare audits.
  • Manages annual animal welfare training for live operations, including contract growers, and works with the processing operations to manage annual animal welfare training.
  • Assists with annual review of animal welfare program.
  • Assists with maintaining National Chicken Council (NCC) compliance.
  • Assists with developing training materials.
  • Understands and complies with animal welfare and biosecurity policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret research or audit results and procedures. Ability to compile results into reports. Effectively communicates information verbally and in writing with managers or suppliers/technical support.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform and understand basic statistical analysis using spreadsheet software. Basic math associated with poultry production.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems. Read, analyze, and interpret research or audit results and procedures.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), M-Tech and farm controllers or other environmental systems.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver's license and qualify for the company's driver program. Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization (PAACO) certification training program will be provided.
