Maintenance Technician

Location: Akron, Ohio

Work Arrangement: In Office

A Day in the Life

• Oversee maintenance for two buildings (40,000 sq ft)
• Serve as the primary contact for tenant and facility issues, preventative maintenance, and work order processing.
• Coordinate, complete, or supervise facilities upgrades.
• Solicit quotes, supervise contractor performance (housekeeping, landscaping, HVAC, elevators), and monitor facility cleanliness.
• Perform minor electrical work (changing fixtures, outlets, ballasts) and light painting/touch-ups.
• Maintain landscaping, flower beds, and bushes; perform light shoveling/salting in winter.
• Manage alarms for multiple locations
• Coordinate office furniture moves, oversee shredding, restock supplies, and maintain storage areas.
• Act as the first point of contact for building emergencies, including on call availability for tenant issues.
• Oversee vending machine needs and coordinate offsite storage solutions.
• Modify systems for seasonal changes and support new employee workstation setups.
• Performs additional duties assigned by the Office Administrator.
• Ensures timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
• Maintains compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines

Who You Are

• You have a High School Diploma; required
• You have 5 years of experience in operations or facilities maintenance; required
• You have knowledge of building equipment and operation.
• You have expert maintenance skills including the ability to determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• You can safely and effectively use hand tools and power tools.
• You can communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
• You can work independently with minimal supervision.
  
• This position requires prolonged standing, some bending, stooping and stretching and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.
