We are seeking an experienced Contracts Specialist to join a leading national organization in the higher education industry! This firm has a dedicated focus on driving strong outcomes that increase workforce preparedness and empowers a diverse learner population to achieve their goals and make inspiring contributions to the global community.

The Contract Specialist works within the Supply Management division and will be responsible for reviewing, managing, and negotiating commercial agreements (including service agreements, supply agreements, NDAs, etc.) in a timely fashion, and maintaining and organizing executed agreements.

Work Model - Hybrid (Mon-Thurs onsite inside the Willis Tower in Chicago. Fridays are remote)

Schedule - Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Pay - Ranging $35-40/hr based on experience

Day in the Life -



  • Review, negotiate and execute commercial agreements: Non-Disclosure Agreements, Consulting Agreements, Licensing Agreements, Master Service Agreements, Cloud Agreements
  • Manage routine contractual matters with guidance from Sr Contract Manager and work with Legal for more complex issues
  • Provide redlined recommendations on all supplier paper or supplier redlines, and often negotiate directly with supplier representatives until consensus is reached. Incorporate Cybersecurity / Data Privacy / Risk Management contractual requirements.
  • Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility, awareness, and interpretation to support implementation
  • Utilize the contract management lifecycle system (CMLS) for purposes of managing workflow, tracking contracts, providing metrics, and retaining accurate contract records. Also comfortable with utilizing e-signature platforms for collecting signatures
  • Answer emails to the Supply Management inbox providing guidance to stakeholders
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal business owners / subject matter experts and suppliers on contractual matters, ensuring timely review and approval
  • As needed, provide guidance on contract matters to internal business owners, including training in contracting practices, contract management system, and Supply Management procedures



Keys to Success -



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 3-5 or more years of experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Knowledge of terms and conditions in commercial contracts; understanding of contract management procedures; skilled at reviewing terms & conditions and identifying risk areas
  • Prior experience reviewing an negotiating SAAS agreements a plus
  • Negotiation skills gained through relevant prior work experience
  • Previous experience using a contract management system a plus (Agiloft, DocuSign, etc.)
