Coordinator, Federal Affordable Housing

The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy seeks to improve quality of life through the effective use, taxation, and stewardship of land. The I'm HOME team sits within the Land and Communities Impact Area of Programs at the Lincoln Institute. The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy ("Lincoln") convenes 2 networks focused on increasing new housing and preserving existing stock; and expanding the credit box to increase sustainable homeownership. This position will support these projects: the Underserved Mortgage Markets Coalition (UMMC) and the Innovations in Manufactured Housing (I'm HOME).

The UMMC combines 37 of the leading U.S. affordable housing advocacy organizations to urge the U.S. Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) to require Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to improve their performance in serving families that cannot access traditional mortgage markets. The I'm HOME network envisions broader adoption of manufactured homes as a cost-effective, energy-efcient, and wealth-building affordable homeownership asset that signicantly contributes to addressing the nation's growing affordable housing crisis in both rural and urban areas. The network also strengthens tenant security in healthy and socially vibrant communities.

We are looking for a Program Coordinator to join the team. You will help us enhance our impact by contributing to our current and future initiatives, including networks, convenings, workshops, place-based pilot programs, research, publications and communications. You will be an integral member of the team while coordinating internally and interfacing with our external audience.

This is a full-time position (37.5 hrs/wk) located in our Washington DC office. This position is a hybrid work arrangement with approximately two-days weekly in the office. Our team tends to operate on a four-day workweek schedule.

Program Specific Work

• Participate in and coordinate the engagement of practitioner networks to advance goals of I'm HOME and the long-term goals of the Institute, utilizing research, project management and strategic planning skills
• Assist in translation of complex ideas and help write for a variety of audiences and contexts, including case studies, memos and white papers, meeting agendas and materials, web content, social media posts, federal comment letters, webinars, and the I'm HOME newsletters.
• Take initiative to collect new program ideas and explore programmatic opportunities.
• Begin to develop expertise in a particular area and can provide support on that topic within LILP.
• Work with other internal teams to advance the work of I'm HOME.
• Be a main point of contact for the general public, addressing inquiries and directing them appropriately.
• Represent Lincoln Institute externally by interacting with smaller groups or project teams and managing some client or partner relationships.
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned, including but not limited to providing back up support for the UMMC and other FAH related programs.

Administrative and Event Support

• Provide administrative support to both initiatives, including scheduling of meetings of networks/communities of practice, managing contracts as needed, grant management and other administrative support tasks.
• Plan event content, draft event materials, and coordinate with speakers and the Events team. Coordinate with government officials, draft speaking notes for speakers, present at events.
• Assist Director in tracking expenditures for the I'm HOME budget.

Procurement and Funder Support

• Work with program staff and procurement team to obtain necessary information for contracts.
• Correspond with researchers and universities to explain Lincoln contract requirements.
• Work with program staff to monitor contract deliverables and communicate with contractors regarding deliverable status.
• Work with Director and partnerships team and other Lincoln staff to obtain necessary information to be compliant with and/or for funder agreements.
• Work with program staff to monitor contract deliverables and communicate with contractors regarding deliverable status.

Website Support

• Work with program staff and Institute web team to update and monitor website content.
• Assist in collecting materials (articles, graphics, images, etc.) for web-based presentations, based on existing or new materials, obtaining copyright permission from authors and journals, and other related tasks, as required.
• Monitor event webpages and request updates from the web team, where required.

• 2-5 years of relevant experience, an undergraduate degree in related field could serve as a portion of the applicable experience.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• High degree of organization and attention to detail, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work independently and with others.
• Creative ability to find fresh solutions and new insights to improve the quality of projects and events.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines ahead of schedule.
• Self-sufficient yet team focused.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in M.S. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, online event platforms (Zoom) with Salesforce/Pardot, InDesign, and/or Canva preferred.

• Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or French.
• Prior experience working in or with historically underserved communities.
