DESCRIPTION

Under supervision, the Electrophysiology Cardiovascular Technologist assists with diagnostic and interventional angiographic cardiovascular electrophysiology procedures, including peripheral vascular, adult congenital and endovascular surgical procedures in the OR Hybrid room.

The EP Cardiovascular Technologist functions as an integral member of the Invasive Cardiology team, working with the Electrophysiology or Cardiovascular Cath labs. Performs specialized electrophysiology duties including operating, maintaining and proper functions of variety of ablation systems, pacing maneuvers and techniques, and EP mapping of cardiac anatomy. Under physician supervision the cardiovascular technologist prepares, operates and ensures the proper functioning of xray equipment associated with the performance of EP procedures. The EP cardiovascular technologist is responsible for radiation safety at all times and performs and documents quality checks and resolves imaging equipment issues. Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic waveform analysis and performs hemodynamic calculations. General knowledge on the concepts of the physics of ultrasound and demonstrates advanced knowledge of echocardiographic procedures, cardiac anatomy and physiology with the understanding of cardiac ultrasound imaging techniques.

Scrubs into procedures by maintaining sterility and assists the physician with sterile supplies and equipment at the procedure table. Contributes to and participates in training and evaluation of staff as a member of self-directed work teams. Participates in performance improvement projects within the department. Additionally, this role may assist in the Electrophysiology/pacemaker clinic. Must be certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support/Advance Resuscitation Training. Responsibilities include "on-call" when assigned. Performs other duties assigned as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Complete certification training from an accredited CVT school.

  • BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Minimum one (1) year experience as CVT/RCIS with electrophysiology monitoring and auxiliary equipment and cardiovascular cath monitoring and auxiliary equipment use for respective positions.

  • PACS, Angiography, Cardiovascular monitoring and ability to achieve competency with auxiliary equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CVT certificate.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $98,261 - $122,127 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $47.06 - $58.49

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
